The State's public policy is to preserve wetlands and prevent their despoliation and destruction. Persons wishing to dredge or fill tidal wetlands may do so only if the Board issues a license for such activity. The Board determines whether to issue a wetland license by considering the varying ecological, economic, developmental, recreational, and aesthetic values the application presents. The Wetlands Administration can provide information concerning your enjoyment of Maryland's State waters and tidal wetlands.
